Alrighty well i'm going to be running a truvativ howitzer bb on my izimu. The Howitzers come in 73mm shells with a 51mm and 56mm chainline. I was wondering which one i should purchase considering a 118mm spindle regular (internal bearing) bb would be used.

any help would be awesome. thanks.

I believe the 56mm chainline is required for the 150mm rear end. Also, when you mount the BB, the instructions will tell you to put the black spacer on the drive side - Don't.

Put the spacer on the non-drive side, and it will move your chain line inboard a bit (improving it, in my opinion).

well after speaking with Rich from Morewood i think im going to run the 51, because the old bb spindle length was a 118 and thats a 51 chainline (got that from calling sram) and they have been putting the 51s on their bikes over at Morewood and not having a problem.

If the frame has no offset then use the 56 model for best possible chain line. Can one put a narrower chainline BB on that bike? probably. It will not allow ideal set up on any bash guard equipped chain retention system or guide plate equipped chain guide.

Also - SRAM measures their chain line differently than Shimano, FSA and Race Face. Their 51mm chainline measures about 2.5mm or so inboard than a Shimano 50mm chain line.
EX: GXP with Stylo cranks - measures 2.5mm more inboard than a Shimano HONE crank set.
