all trails are open during the event. unless they run into the race course. that means most freeride trails will be open. Alpine, Ripper, Floom Drop, The Breakouts, and Dominions most likly will be open. Last year was my first time watching dh up close. It was a lot of fun. It was also the first event i took pictures of.

so if you go and don't qualify for the sunday finals you can still freeride on some parts of the mountain?

you can ride on saturday sunday and monday if you buy a lift ticket. you can ride any trail that dosent go into the race course. ie alpine domion ripper. If you do not qualify for the open (qualify is sat) you have to buy a lift ticket.

just as long as spectators are willing to hike up the mountain, it is free for them. if they want to take the lift then they need to pay. how much, i'm not sure.

Lift ticket for the day for spectators was $ 6. unless you wear a pink shirt. then its $12.
Lift up, hike down.
Last year I saw the first competitor at the top of the mountain, slowly hiked down, and the last rider (winner) go thru the bottom gate. Perfectly timed by me.
P.S. Bring chicks who flash boobs to throw off the racers...

Ok where is Floom Drop I haven't heard that one? I was riding diuring one of the US opens last year and there were a lot of spectators and when the race was over they all walked down the fire road leading to the lift because it was the easiest route out.
