I want to start brewing my own beer....there are lots of websites, does anyone have a specific site that is good for starter kits? I'm a noob and need to get some books as well.

www.northernbrewer.com
Consistent 4 day shipping from their warehouse to me in central MA. Decent prices, fresh product, great selection.
Check out Charlie Papazian's "The Complete Joy of Home Brewing" It's a great resource full of tips and techniques to take you from your first batch through to developing your own recipes and brewing with all grain.

Another good resource is John Palmer's How to Brew (http://www.howtobrew.com/intro.html).
