Wow its been a really long time since I have been here.

Anyway I am a heavier rider (about two bucks) and I need a new XC fork. My White Bros XC 70 gave up the ghost. A nice stiff fork would be awesome. Since I have been out for a while I dont know who has what now.

A couple more things might help.
V Brake and 80-100mm travel

Marzhocchi Marathon or MX series
RockShox Reba
Fox F-series

All are solid choices- just pick a model that suits your budget and requirements. They all have the travel range you're looking at and all can have rim brake mounts. The Fox is pricier than the other choices and the Marz probably hits the lowest price points. I haven't owned any of these forks, but I've ridden them some and they all do well. I don't think one stands out above the others.

I've owned Fox F100 and TALAS, Manitou Minute, and Rock Shox Reba forks for XC.

F100/TALAS wins over Reba, but only by a bit. Manipoo is just that, poo. Fox is just so smooth, no marketing gimmicks, but it is pricey.

Yeah, that's my experience with Fox. I had a TALAS a while back and loved it. No problems- it just worked and worked well.

I try not to be a hater, but I haven't liked any Manitou products I've owned.

I think that fork will last longer than your bike. Good choice.

took my first real ride last night and i have to say its not bad. A little flexy but I can live with that. Now I just hope that the weather will cooperate.
