Gmail contacts

Let's say my buddy Dennis sends me an email. Is there an easy aand direct waay to add him to my contacts without a bunch of copy/paste?

I must be missing something obvious.

In the email, there's a little blue box in the upper right hand corner, I think it defaults to "Reply". Use the arrow drop-down and there's an option to add to contacts.
