Well it's not really on the way. Post is near Hood river. BR is near Salem but if you've got time definitely hit both. We went to Post canyon this weekend and it was snowing hard, about 8" on the ground. Not as much fun as it usually is, but then again it beats work!

those guys are coming from seattle. which makes post kind of on the way. post, falls, and syncline are all definitely worth checking out, although i wish oregon had more strictly downhill trails.

Just a suggestion, but instead of giving geography lessons you could go cut some DH runs. Using your logic Colorado is on the way also. I was simply trying to be helpful by offering information to help them plan their trip.
