A buddy of mine is entering the Topnotch triathlon in Franconia, NH. He's looking for (his first) bike to use in that event. He lives near York, ME and I'm trying to point him to a local bike shop to set him up with a bike. Any recommendations?

Thanks, J

I'd PM Rockland. I haven't seen him around lately, but he's from ME (a little north of York) but he might know of the best place. There is a bike shop right on the main drag between York & Wells that I have been to but I can't remember the name of it. I'll double check with Sq-Earl and see if he remembers.

Papa Wheelies in Portsmouth (http://backbaybicycles.com/) <------- I've never been there but have heard of them.

Might also be worth the 35 minute ride up to Portland.

Thanks, folks!

Rockland's a hell of a shot north of York - 2-1/2 hours or so.

Papa Wheelies is a good shop. Cape-Able in Kennebunkport (it's not a bad as it sounds, it's not intown.) was pretty good when I lived down that way.

No - I think he's at one of the Portland shops.
