there are none. just pay the race fee and race the level you think you can. for the us open unless you are hella fast you will most likely be in AM. last year was my first time racing the open and there were 300 entries in the AM class.

you must qualify in your class if you are going to race.

if you are going to race in the open you need to qualify. if you are going to race in their series there is no qualifying.

if this is your first year even on the dh, I would not recomend trying to qualify for the open. Stick with racing intro for the domination series. If its your first year on mountains with lifts wait a year.

f**k it!! last year was my first year downhilling and first year racing. i did the diablo series, the us open plus a one race at platty and i would say jump right into racing. you wont regret it. so people have no idea wut it feels like to be stitting at the top of the course waiting to go. you will love it.

If you have a good XC background you have a good shot at qualifying, besides at the Open you can ride Friday, Sat and Sunday even if you do not qualify. There is not much better race to get in that quantity and quality of riding!

please dont go into the open thinking that if you are a good xc rider you will do good. do yourself a fav and go onto youtube and search for " us open of mountain bikeing" . use those vids to get an idea of the course. it wont be the same course this year but it will have the same kind of crazy rock gardens. better yet, watch the chain reaction dvds.
