I found a nice DOS emulator, but I can't seem to find a stand-alone console emulator for WinXP-- I dl'ed some old school SNES games and wanna play! :D

http://www.consoleclassix.com seems to be strictly online -- must connect to play, but they have a bunch of games, so no searching an dl'ing required which is nice, but what if you can't connect?

Do you have to have a controller to play or can you force the emulator to recognize your keyboard and mouse?

I've never seen an emulator that required a controller.

I used to use ZSNES - you don't really mean you've got a DOS emulator, you mean you've got a command line one, right? And you want a graphical interface?

Woah, this page rocks:

http://www.zophar.net/snes.html

You're welcome :thumb: - and it looks like ZSNES is the bees knees as far as emulators go.

www.freeroms.com there are a few emulators there.

you dont need a controller, but c'mon, even a $10 one will make a world of difference over a keyboard. zsnes is the best emulator for snes, and nesticle the best for nes.
with some soldering and a few diodes, i hacked a snes controller into my parallel port. freaking sweet.
