I have the stock on there now (fox 3.0), and It seems to bottom out pretty easily, doesnt seem like much adjustability.

The dhx 5.0 has that bottom out feature, which seems really nice. Do other shocks have this, what would be the best for freeride, but still affordable.

DHX 5 or the Roco were my first choices. My LBS was out of both when my stock Fox blew, so I ended up with a 4 way Swinger which ain't too bad.

:spam: I'll take the DHX if you are going to sell it. What i2i/stroke is it?:spam:

I would second getting the 07 Vanilla R and PUSHing it. From what I have heard the internals are similar to the DHX/RC of old, but they do have the bottom out feature. PUSH can do wonders to suspension.

A 07 Vanilla thats pushed, looks more expensive then a 5.0

$250+ pushed $180

I could find a recent 5.0 for probably $100 less then that.

Muddybreast: It is worth a try. I am not sure if they will work on a R, as there is not much going on in that shock. If it a RC then I would deffinetly give it a shot. The difference between a 2007 R and a 2005 is that the 2007 has a piggy-back chamber (rebound, compression adjustments)

bnean: PUSH can make a shock smoother that sex. I would say a pushed 2007 Vanilla R would be superior to a DHX. Also give 'Zocchi a look, the Roco is pretty hot right now. They perform awesomely on Konas too.

ive got an 06 stinky with the 3.0 you need to adjust the air for the bottom out resistence..how much do you weigh it might be the spring is too soft

The Fox DHX 3 does have bottom out dampening but it is fixed. You can increase the rate by adding more air pressure to the boost valve. If your shock still bottoms out easily you probably need a stiffer spring. Check the setup table to see that your sag is setup correctly before doing anything. Additionally, the Stinky has an alternate shock mount (closest to the seat tube) for a more progressive spring rate.
