In the market for some new brakes, will be running them on my Trance with 160mm rotors. I have the following choices and just wanted opinions on which brake other would pick & why.
Keeping in mind that easy to maintain & service or relatively trouble free is preferred.
The xt's are more expensive than the other two but I have a feeling that it may be worth the outlay. Magura probably doesn't have the cheapest or best parts availability here in Australia. And Juicy's well some have problems others don't.

So.

Shimano Deore XT
Magura Louise
Avid Juicy 5

personally I love my Shimano XT 4-pots. I've only run Hayes nines before though.

4-pots own.

I've used Magura Louise and Shimano XT's. I wasn't impressed with either. I use Hayes HFX's now. I have no experience with the Juicy's.

I like the Juicy 5s from your list.

I suppose that's to be expected, everyones opinion is different.
I ended up going for the XT's, basically because I could afford to (Great deal for a pair from Chain Reaction Cycles) and I figured they would be cheaper to service (bleed kit's half price compared to hayes & avid & magura).

I liked the look of the levers as well. Being similar to shimanos top line the Saints can't be a bad thing.
Magura parts availability was the main worry for here in Oz and I've heard of seal troubles with '06 avids.

Ah in the end I think every brake has it's good and bad points and the rest is personal preference. Let's just hope I get a good set of XT that are trouble free for ages.

juicy 5, just as good as the 7s. just minus the pad control on the lever
