You guys know of any shop that carries IH other than Performance? I parking lot tested the Mk3 just to get a feeling for the size. I tried out the 21in and it still seems somewhat short. Does that mean the 6.X series will be equally short? I'm 6'4 and trying to decide between the SC Nomad (which I've actually ridden in Moab), Giant Reign or IH 6 series.

Paul, I know it's far, but The Path in Tustin is an Iron Horse dealer. It would probably be about a 45min - 1hr drive from where you are, but it's worth it.

Paul, when you get the size thing sorted out check out www.rscycle.com , they are blowing out 06 IH stuff for basically half price. MKIII expert for 1599., MSRP 3099., not bad! Seems to be a few hundred cheaper than performance even.

Like Metal said, I'd recommend The Path, even if it is a bit of a drive. They hooked me up with a 6Point, and I think they have some more around.

Yes, I know the DRS needs to be rotated back. I have to do some grinding on it as there's interference with the ISCG05 tabs.

Incredible looking bike. How does it ride?
Also, did I see this bike in the lobby of a certain other manufacturer's headquarters in Murrieta, CA a couple of weeks ago?

Give The Path a call (888-608-PATH) and ask for Olcott. He has a good amount of experience racing/trail riding his 6Point8. (Has run a Lyrik and a Totem on the bike.)
I think the largest 6Point is a 19" size.
I also have many happy friends riding Nomads.
Good luck with your search.

Just rechecked IH website...they say that the 19" has a effective TT of 24" but then the fine print at the bottom it says that the effective TT and SA is measured with a layback seat post.
Does this mean that the bike was designed with a layback seatpost in mind?
If so and I used a regular straight would that shorten the TT and put me too far forward in relation to the pedals?
One last thing...printed geometry's are one thing but reality might prove different. I've hopped on a 21" Mk3...anyone know how the 6 series' TT feel compared with the Mk3? Does it feel shorter or longer?

Cant answer the rest of your Qs, but yes the bike is designed to run a set back post. It is only 25mm so like an easton offset head post, not a BMX style layback post. There is a post over @ mtbr (IH section) where DW addressed this. It was his contention that you 'could' run a straight post (think thomson) and just slide you saddle way back.
Not sure why they did this, maybe room for the rear tire at compression??
