So I got rider support from kenda tires a few days ago, and Im in need of new tires, or atleast, figure I would stock up on tires for the year (less money spent in the long run :-).

So I have a bighit, which has 26" front and 24" rear. I like to run atleast 2.4 at all times. I do alot of urban at random times of the year along with my usuall freeriding in the local trails, and I also plan on doing DH races this year.

Basically what Kenda tires would you all suggest? Focus on the 24" perticularly because Kenda only makes a few.

Im open to all tire suggestions, as Im likely to buy many (3-7) and use them for there purpose. Keep in mind I get 60% off tires, so the price isnt a huge issue.

P.S. I recently got a Nokian NBX 2.4 (.5?) front, my rear needs to be replaced first, its currently an Arrow Racing Prime bite 2.75

Thanks.

Oh, and these are the tires I was looking at...
-Nevegal DH 24X2.5 (rear)
-Telonix DH 26X2.6 (front)
-Kinetics DH 26X2.6 (front)
-Kinetics DH 24X2.6 (rear)
-DH Tire lever (my plastics all broke, are metal ones any good?)

Go with the Nevegals here in the NW. Great tread, but I suggest getting the DTC tread if it is going on the rear. The Sticky E will wear out too fast.

I haven't tried any of the newer treads, and Kinetics are average at best from my experience.

Pretty much all tire irons rock that I've seen. I use the Intense and the Parks... both work equally well. I think I like the Intense shape better though.

Theres a problem, none of the 24" come in DTC. There all Stick-E

Doh, didn't realize that since I don't run 24"s. Well, if you got a hook up, should be ok since Kenda has a pretty good progam and they are already pretty reasonable.

I run stick e here in N idaho. Blue groove front and nevegal rear. They hold up just fine as well as I run them singleply. 2.5 X 26 amd this is my 3rd set, as well rider support. I Ran maxxis and loved them till the got rid of the slow reezay, Its been kenda ever since and No problems to date. BTW I ride them tubeless as well with stans and no problems either.

I run the nevegals front and rear and ran them on my bighit. They are a killer tire, although they are a little thin. I took 2 inches of bead off the sidewall and punched a hole the size of a dime on the tread when I hit a rock, the single plys are a little thin

nevegals, my first 24" wore very quickly but it was well worth it.

i'm sorry to be a hater, the nevegal tread pattern is great, but kenda has the worst quality control ever. call it bad luck, but my dad has recieved 3 nevegals with different issues, all purchased from different shops. each one was traded for one that worked, but the issues went from sidewall deformations and unequal sidewall thickness to problems with the bead dying before the tire was even all the way inflated. i'l even admit it was weird to have that many problems, but my dad's friend had a similar issue, but only once. they have since given up on the nevegal because it can't get much climbing grip and nothing seems to be able to ride like a continental vertical pro in front and a wtb weirwolf in back. these are, of course, 2.1 nevegals on the rear wheel of trail bikes, and i have had no problems with the nevegals on DH bikes I have tested.

The weirwolfs arent all that hot either, I rolled a front 2.5 DH off the rim

yeah thats what I figure, they're like 20 bucks so w/e

Just so you know, you aren't supposed to talk about sponsor discounts/pricing. It is heavily frowned upon.

I get rider support from kenda also, but I am considering just sticking with my intense tires, they are still the best ever, I run the intruders, fro 2.7 front and rear, but Im switching to the fro lites this year....I have nevegals on my xc bike, but they arent that grippy in corners, wash out, slide out, my intenses never have. My friend runs a 2.7 nev on front of his dh rig though, says its ok. I can only trust intense though and think its worth paying extra for grip and reliability.

Avoid the Kinetics and get the nev's and blue grooves. Run the Nev in the rear and the blue groove in the front, or nevs front and rear.
