I have the Single 150 (the OE Intrinsic version) and love it. It's just the sort of ride I like with a super soft initial travel and the ability to adjust the bottom part of the stroke. The fork feels very stiff to me but mine is a shorter travel version so I can't really say regarding the 180 or 200 mm ones.

Are you sure they make those in single crown versions? If they do, I wouldn't recommend buying one because it would be really flexy with that much travel in a single crown.

well, i rode the 180mm version, not for long, but to me, it seemed a hell of a lot like my travis triple. i wish i had gotten one instead of the triple because i like the x-up capability, but they are a little bit less stiff than the triple clamp. i've heard the 203mm is too flexy, and there have been issues with them breaking.

cool thanks for the low down on the 203mm travis looks like i won't be going any more than 180mm on the front.

I have the Travis 150 on my imperial and I love it! I had ridden 3 shermans in a row and was thinking about moving to another brand but i got a sweet deal on the travis and i couldnt be happier. It's 10x better than the shermans

He blew it up just about every weekend at Whistler. The intrinsic cartridges would just blow up on sudden hard hits. I felt bad for the guy. Luckily Manitou has a service center up at Whistler. He was on a first name basis with the techs and they really went above and beyond to help him out. It was just a poor design. He just got it back and they put the old style tpc cartridges in it because of the constant failures of the intrinsic stuff. Anyways, the fork feels really nice and he loves it otherwise. Although, he woulda been out all season if the service center wasn't close by. Other folks I've talked to have had good success with'em though? I hope they get it fixed this coming season. I would look elsewhere for reliability until it's all sorted out.
If you aren't dead set on a Travis, definitely take a look at the RockShox Totems. That is a f*cking awesome fork. And super-stiff for a single-crown.

I have a Travis 203 sc I just got last week...rode it this weekend and can only say good things about it at this point. Didnt notice any flex to speak of, sent some small to 10-15 foot gaps and some 8 foot booter jumps to flat and only managed to really bottom out once, where as I would have bittomed out my old super t ten times. Think something might have been wrong with it though. Travel is super plush and soaks everything up through the first 6 or so inches then really stiffens up to keep from bottoming out, and I am 185lbs and only running the stock spring, I do have a heavy spring I might try out. Fork held up well thisweekend and the break-in period isnt even over yet. The fork is a huge difference from the Monsters and super T's I have been running. All in all I think it is a great fork.

I rode a Travis SC 180mm Intrinsic last season for DH, great fork and plenty stiff. Intrinsic damping works awesome, the fork was super plush but didn't dive or bob at all.
I'm switching to an 8" DC this year just because I've never had an 8" fork and I like trying new things. My Travis is actually for sale in the Classifieds here so PM me if you're interested.
