That is a f-in wicked trailer. I want the movie so bad based on that. I also want to go rip it up on my bike pretty bad now. Shame it's snowing here.

Nice, but to be honest I was a bit dissapointed with Super 8. It just wasn't that "cool." This trailer does look very promising though.

and video geeks everywhere love it when you slow-mo 24p.

beyond that, looks like some good content subject and location wise... so it will still be a fun watch.

This music... Reminds me something...

By the way, sick trailler. I'm a little bit depressed right now watching all these pros riding... Something very very far away from me...

Great trailer, not a big fan of the forced quote to match up with a song though.
Will be getting this ASAP.

stop speeding up my video. I'm going to form a petition.

it looks good, but i like to see DH riders riding naturally, no slow, no fast, none of this notchy-style they were using in that clip.

It looks sick though, and I would love to see it.

Not sure which parts are sped up? All looks normal to me.

yeah, if there is one thing mtn bike videos need less of these days, it's notchy-style... whatever the hell that is.

edit- needs this smiley:

I agree. Jerky camera movements and uneven panning suck. That's why I like Clay Porter.

maybe it's the feed, or the hosting service, but it looks like the film was shot with a lower framerate or something. It looks like something is missing, almost like stop-motion, if that makes sense. It's like strobing, almost. Like I said, maybe it's my computer, but it's definately there and I can't watch that for a whole feature.

There's a rider a little before halfway with a blue jersey and yellow deemaxes, he's pumping through the woods and it definately looks sped up. Maybe it's just the zoom.

i think it's minaar.

i love the part where they have minaar split screened with peat. It's neat to compare riding styles that way.

why did the exposure seem wrong on just about every single one of those shots?

WhiteRavenKS

haha, yup, matti on a home turf trail? that's not sped up.

the flicker you're talking about is called stroboscoping. he shoots some of his stuff on the panisonic 24p camera and shoots in 24 fps instead of the typical 25 (for PAL) and 29.97 ( for NTSC). the only reason to ever shoot 24p is to transfer out to film prints. unfortunately if you drop the money for that camera, you are tempted to shoot 24p all the time. this sucks for action as the frame rate isnt high enough for fast moving objects, if you slow the footage down at all, that strobing flicker gets way worse too. those shots of landscapes and like people on the podium and such- those are fantastic for that camera and the resutls look great. but the action stuff would look smoother if the camera were set up differently. so the subject material has to be strong enough for the viewer to look past and ignore the weird stuff from 24p shooting.

thanks for the explanation. I hope it clears up on DVD....but it's hard for me to watch.

fair enough on the speed, i was a little drunk so i'm sure everything looked sped up.
