Just bought the fr-5s(CHEAP), but the leverage/pin position seems awfully short. I've tried canti levers before and these DO work better, but I don't have any cheap ol levers laying around that i KNOW are for V-brakes/discs.
Feel kinda funny asking this pinkbike worthy question, but I've run Maguras for as long as it matters and this is my first HANEST go at a dedicated street/dj rig. Gonna keep it cheap and simple with mechs.
I've got a good deal wating on the 7 levers, but wanna make sure it's not just a waste of time.

Yes, much better. The FR-5s don't have that little pivot attatchment for the cable which makes them not feel or work as well in my experience with them.

Yeah, I know the piece you are talking about. These fives DO have a little solid mounted bellcrank type thingy in them. I think that's why they work with the discs, even though they have such a short throw. I'll just grab the 7s.

Uh..yeah...I'm getting the 7s. After reading some of the threads listed at the bottom of the page i realize that I have a REALLY old set of 5s. No speed dial adjustment on mine! I don't need the sillydial, but I'm sure they've changed a few other things in the meantime!
