I'm thinking of racing a v10 next year. Are there any big guys out there on them, and did you have any trouble finding springs to get the right sag. I weigh bout 260, and I'm worried that I wont be able to get a stiff enough spring for it.

you can get a up to a 750 spring. I am 200 and use wither a 450 or a 500 (can't remember). You should be good with a 750.

SC says 240 should use a 550, the chart suggests going up 50 for every 20 lbs, so a 600 or 650 would be what you'd want depending on your prefs in sag.

I'm right around 200# and the 550 that came on mine seemed too soft, I run a 700# spring and it feels perfect

between 95 & 100mm, right at SC's spec
I noticed when I was running the 550 that I was running a lot of preload and the shock would bottom easily. Maybe I should send in my shock and have it looked at, I bought it used, but it seems to be performing as normal.

yeah, that sounds like your shock isnt providing any compression damping. you can check that by taking it off the bike and taking the spring off and pushing onit. it should be pretty hard to move, usually a platform shock ads about 100-200lb/inch of resistance. if it moves pretty easily you either have no air pressure in the chamber, or its totally blown out.

I'm 240 and I called both FOX and SC and both told me to get the 700...............however, I run the 650 and it feels great.............actually it feels amazing.........Im going to go to a Ti spring next.

Well both Peaty and Rennie are pretty large dudes.
I'm 255 and run a 550 on my roco/v10. Seems to work pretty well. Not sure how that applies to a fox but if you have a 5th or a roco a 550-600 should work pretty well for all around dh riding and racing. The roco works really well on the v10 IMO.

max Ti spring available is 600
rennie has to run a 650 steel on his v10
i m 220lbs and not exactly a smooth rider...got my tuned shock with a 700 spring, havent tried it yet but from the records of the guy who tuned it, 700 is the right spring for me with my current set up. i keep a 600 and 550 spring just in case.
