Anyone planning on going to this this Sunday (12/17) in Salinas CA?

http://cccx.org/dh/2006/index.shtml

I only made it to one of the 4 races so far because of being sick and broken (http://www.ridemonkey.com/forums/showthread.php?t=157628). I am going to get totally worked because I havent been able to ride after work at all because its totally dark when I get off. Also with all of the rain its been hard to get out on the local trails to practice. It should be fun though. I get to use my new bike. (http://www.ridemonkey.com/forums/showthread.php?t=169693) =]

I'm going. I'll also be getting my butt kicked since I've maybe rode 2 or 3 times since the november race.

Hmmm... It's tempting... Stealth practice at night with the NiteRider... hmmm.

If I manage to find some money I'll see you guys out there. However, any money I find will probably just be used to buy a few quarts of oil and an oil filter, then some more food as rice, corn and apples will only take you so far. So it's a maybe.

The trails are tacky hella right now... super sweeeeeeet.

I had such a bad run. Both of my knee/shin guards slipped down to my feet for the first time ever while on my race run. Made it incredibly hard to pedal/keep my feet on the pedals and ended up stacking near the finish. Just to give you an idea I was 30 seconds behind pretty much everyone in my class. freaking score. I hate my life.

how'd the swd ride?

The SWD was actually really nice. I need to run a stiffer rear spring. Its way too soft with the recommended spring weight. I also need to get used to riding with a road cassette too. I have always run a mountain one until I got this bike. Its SO different than my Free and still is going to take some time to get used to everything. It was only my 4th ride on the bike since I got it built so everything is still being dialed in.

Its time for new knee/shin pads now. They were demolished after the race.

Just ordered the 661 Race knee/shin guards. So I hope I wont ever run into the issue I had in that race again.
