what compromises carbon fiber strength? i'm running some 2003 easton carbon monkey lite DH bars that are pretty beat up. for my next bars, i was either going to buy the new easton carbon dh bars, or switch to something like deity.

deep cuts, crack, probobly leaving it out in the sun, and hacksaws, and shovels, go with what ever bars you like more. If your bars are extremely banged up, i would be afraid of them snapping, cause it probobly wouldnt feel too good

Scratches , nicks and dents pretty much seal your fate with carbon .

The blackmarket bars are 25.4mm whereas the Deity bars are 31.8mm... although I'm not sure what the differences are in the strength of the aluminum... one's 2014, and the other is 7075.
i love carbon but the way i abuse my bike, makes steel, alum a better choice.

I run carbon bars on a few of my bikes, but have broken them. I just inspect them periodically or after crashes now and replace if nicked up.
