So what's the deal with riding the freeride/dh trails at woodward west. I've seen some stuff written about it and pics, but the most I get out of it is a few camps during the summer. This is great if your in school, and are new and still learning. But, it seems like a waste otherwise if it's not open year around. I get there's only a few runs build mostly by a few people (make that one), but in the LA area there isn't much else, and NOTHING on private land. Anyway it still looks like a fun day trip. Anyone out there that can offer some insite?

I think it was EC that started the mtb stuff there. I think they have 3 DH trails. They also have a bunch of wooden stunts.

My friend, Steve, just learned backflips there.

I've seen what they have there... but... if I wanted to ride the DH this weekend, can I just go, maybe pay a fee, sign some waivers and ride? What's the process or does one even exist?

I'm pretty sure that's what you do. E-mail them.
