Would you happen to be visiting vtjim? I just saw his post. Anyhow, I'm not aware of any places in San Diego that rent decent quality mtn bikes. You looking for DH or XC?

I knwo some trails, not sure if you would want to ride them though. they are fun, nice climbs, rocky downhills, its fun.

nope. visting extended family.
wasn't planning on bringing the DHR so something more geared towards burning excess calories.
