short notice. sweetwater res 10/31

i know its short notice, but ill be riding sweetwater resevoir jsut south of SD in Bonita. ill be there around 1ish at the trailhead. just my wife and i, xc bikes, just fun and gooffing off. not a training ride.

i know this is a total longshot, but you never know...

the trail is closed for construction of the highway down there.
went to marion bear instead and did laps.

Did you try to access from the campgrounds or the steel bridge? I couldn't imagine it would be closed from the bridge as that is quite a ways from the hwy.

it was my first time there. tried from the campground area. they are building a new road right there, so it is all blocked off all over the place with the construction and with storage of their materials.

would it be worht it to go there again and try? ive never been on that trail...

elfin forrest is my next new spot to visit....

I'd say it's worth it, just start from the steel bridge off Campo Road (Old 94). Take the 94 to the end, then right on Campo Rd and another right where you see the bridge in the trees.

I'm off all next week if you want to go to Sweetwater just let me know, as long as you don't mind riding with someone slow at climbing.
