What do you wear for winter in S CA?

I'm moving to Venture County in a few weeks from the northeast and need to know what clothing I should bring out with me. For normal road and mtn riding does a vest and a thin long sleeve do it or do you need alittle more?

Morning and evening a long-sleeve is usually plenty, I still wear short sleeve vented shirts during mid-day. (or start the day with a long sleeve over the short sleeve until it warms up)

Welcome to Ventura county, quite possibly the best place on earth. No BS, I've lived in the midwest, northeast and Texas and so far this is IT. Hot women, great weather, great riding, great surfing - can't beat it. The only downside is living in the socialist state of Kalifornia, where inane gun laws and high taxes on everything (especially businesses) are driving folks to other states in droves.

the weather does not have much variation around here, other than the fact that it just gets a tad bit colder in the winter.
the days are the same temperature unless its raining, but the nights and mornings get chilly during the winter

there is snow. you could drive to it if you want to. that's about the only time I wear long pants.

Where in Ventura county? Here in Ojai it's pretty much shorts/t-shirt year round. I rode in jeans and a long sleeve shirt DHing today and burnt up. In the mornings a second layer can be nice but shorts are still good. Rain jacket can be good.

I moved here from Mass one year ago this week, to Ventura County! You are leaving winter behind you, for good. It never gets cold here, ever. I remember two years ago a whole week went by in Mass where the temp didn't get out of single digits, and down to -10 at least at night. Ugh, I don't miss that.

Yeah the tough part was getting used to the hills around here. The trails and type of riding is completely different.

I did the same thing; did some running and trying to get in shape, but the best way to do it is just throw yourself at the hills and make your body get used to it.

I do kind of miss how gnarley some the trails were back east though, like in Lynn Park. That was always a fun ride.
