WORD!

Can you tell about entry fees and what not? Chuck, I don't know if you have this kind of coverage, but I'd love to announce...and I'm hoping to race if the course ain't too hairy! - Huff

Entry will be 25 for Pro and 15 for am.
Pro is 100% payback- prizes for am.
I was going to contact you on the MC question
I will most likely be able to get some type of pa
sound system. It may be just like a home stereo
with a mic but I will call some friends and see
what I can come up with. I had a guy pro DJ it
a couple yrs. ago with great sound system.

Also will be out there this weekend most
likely all day Sat. and a little Sun.
working and riding if you want to come
check it out.
I could use a little help with grasscutting
etc.
Although I have knocked out a good bit
of it in the last week
The course should be good for the race
it's a lot more packed than the first race
The Dirt Jumps are back up and running!

You guys may want to post this in the Downhill Forum too. I bet you may see some guys come to this now that the normal season is over. The place looks sweet on the flyer. If you have pics post them.

The course looks intimidating but has different line choices
if you can jump at all you can handle it

Yeah right, Doug. You get through your DJs at Bigfoot you won't have any problems on this track. It's a really fun track with big and small options.

Peter got his P2 yesterday so watch out.

Any info on what the class division/breakdown is going to be? This will be my first ever race on my MTB...and I assume that there'll be a breakdown of the amateur classes (right? Bueller...Bueller?)

Peete

Just pro, am and maybe a Jr. class if there is a showing like the last race.

There will be some good product for the ams.

Metal Dude

ummh uh, well if enough lazy azzez
come out and participate then we'll
divide classes to whatever works!
last race had 8 pro and 8 ameteur
so we need more than that to do
more classes. I'll call that the minimum for now.
So come on out jr.s - women - crippled - grampas
we don't care, it's all fun and racing!

I have to be honest...just having the pro and am breakdown would make me think twice about racing. I won't miss being there for the world...but even having any type of division amongst the amateurs would be good.

Just my .02$

well recruit more first timers and we'll
be good to have maybe 2 am classes
we'll see upon turnout, its all for fun
so if you dont win the first one its
still aa good experience
the am class was pretty hot last time
though, top two were first time mtb racers
although they are some of the fastest teen
bmxers in the country, so just cause they're
13 and 17 those guys will race pro class if
they show back up. Amazing one guy rode
a bike too big for him borrowed.
The other bought his bike during practice
The other guys in am were fast too
I think they were all bmx kids under 16
on borrowed bikes - rippin'

And this is supposed to make me feel good about coming and racing for the first time how?!:happydance: (all good implied sarcasm and wit implied here! ; )

I'm old, slow, and my bones seem to break with unusual ease these days...hell, I guess I'll donate my $15 entry to the pot.

OLD? I don't want to hear about old. And slow? I think I got that one covered too. I don't care, if the racing is as good as last time we could charge admission. I've never been to a race that had such good match ups.

just wanting more pix of the track and are there any dirt jumps in the area, is union city still around?

Metal Dude
10-29-2006, 06:56 PM
There are some good size six pack there with other jumps on the course
that are fun to jump.
Sadly 138 trails in UC have been gone since around 2000
you old scool fool, you know about those trails.
Not much around anymore in any good shape
Trails on the Northside just got plowed too.
the skatepark is good though
I like dirt myself, There used to be a couple good
DJ trails around not too much right now
maybe secret ones but it'll be a fun weekend though!

I took a few today during the ride, I'll post them this week.

I just had a thought that as rough as the track was today, it is still smoother than any other mtnX tracks I've been to.
Expect it to be buff and fast for the race.

We took 2 newbies(first time at Chuck's) out there today and they were gushing over the course.
In fact we would have stayed out there til dark if my back didn't feel like the wife hit me with a 2x4.
