has anyone here try running a spring-loadedtensioner on the back and two rings in the front? i am considering doing this. i have a vertical-dropout HT i want to convert. i think one of these two devices could do the trick.

Those could work, but it would depend on the difference between the two rigns you run. Those don't look like they would take up a lot of chain slack.

I've seen that work using an old derailer for a tensioner

Dual speed? Why not use a rod system:

haven't done this mod yet. still looking into it. i might check into the rod system too. that seems like a great idea.
i did this with a 34-36-38 and a singulator.
i justy shifted it by hand. don't know if a f der would work
