I would have loved to go, but the GF broke her wrist commuting to work on Thursday morning. Thursday noontime, she was officially notified that her work is laying off all the union workers because they gave the 10 day strike notice. They can't lay her off because she is out on medical leave (good for her), but can't ride for probably 5-6 weeks.

And she just bought her new bike. :(

Well We are Not exacly skipping work now, So a Saturday Ride is in order.

First we went up to the Louis garnue Outlet and all spent way too much Money there . then we got back and was time to ride.

todays plan Dea Moose alley. IAB, MBC , My Wife and Rachel Shuttled up the 2 mile up hill, Kieth and I road it . the only problen when we got there the road was closed. some one had rented the road for the weekend. and we were not allowed to cross it.

So we parked at a condo complex and road up the hill and up some of the skill Hill of Burke MT.

Man, what an awesome weekend. Great riding, great company, great beer. I hear it rained in southern New England all weekend. Well Friday and Saturday were sunny and 70 in East Burke. :) Sunday wasn't as nice, but we managed a 12 mile ride before leaving town.

A few pics from our Saturday ride. As splat mentioned, the toll road up Burke Mountain was closed so we could not hit Dead Moose Alley. We detoured to some of the Burke Mountain trails.

That ride was around three hours/12 miles.

After a few beers and a hearty dinner, we went for a night ride. Bad idea to ride 30 minutes after a large meal. :dead: I managed to keep my food down though and we had a great little 1.5 hour/6 mile ride, hitting Herb's (up), Worth It, Sugarhouse Run, Pines (love that trail), Vast, Riverwood, Vast, Kitchel . Only one pic from that ride came out decent. Here's SPLATSTER.

Our final ride of the weekend was this morning. We ate an early breakfast and headed out for some 7:30 AM riding. Good thing we rode early, as it started to rain near the end of the ride. This ride covered basically the same route as our night ride, we also headed over the Heaven's Bench, then hit up Sidewinder and Old Webs one more time. This ride was just me, Splat and MBC, as Keith had to bail on account of a sore hand. We estiamate this ride was 12 miles/3 hours. Keith gets the "Trooper of the Weekend" award, as he basically rode for three days one handed. His left hand was nursing seven stitches caused by a knife gash (he's a carpenter).

What's with the all the F-BOMB hand gestures ? I thought this was a "G" rated site ...

Anyhow, nice pics. I was up there last weekend too but only managed to pull out the camera twice - once during a ride and another time during lunch.

We got around the auto race and onto the trails on Burke by accessing the campground from the back entrance (take a right when the road gets really steep) and then out the back of one of the sites there's a singletrack that climbs and joins the "Camptown" trail which you can take to the CCC road and to other trails.

The GF has said that we need to make a trip up there sometime. Won't be this year, her hand is healing and she won't ride in the cold because it agravates her asthma.
