OK I pulled up Kona's downloadable PDF and the BB is listed at 12" for the Stinky bikes. Can this be true? Seems like you'd be hitting your pedals on the ground w/ every stroke? Just curious b/c altho I love my AS-X, I'd love something w/ a lower BB. Just surprised the Kona's is indeed that low. I've actually never heard of a BB that low. My hardtail is at 13"...

My bet is that number is either with sag or without tires.
No way an FR bike could run that low of BB.
The AS-X BB height is way too tall in the long travel setting.

Yeah I think you're right Naga...definitely with sag. Slapping the 26" rear on mine this summer definitely made the BB higher in the 7" setting. Which means I really just need to put it in 6" mode, buy a lighter spring, and throw a 66 Light on the front. But I'm sick of putting money into that bike! (new rims, spokes, brakes already this year)

I asked this same question in the Kona forum on MTBR. Over 100 morons clicked on the thread and zero people answered. Why do people do that?
So I found out from Kona that they measure their BB heights with sag.
Kinda stupid, since it depends on a ton of variables and nobody else really does it that way, but okay.

That's good to know about the sag. Wonder about other specs they list, i.e. head angle.
