This is the first sight of the McKenzie River

Jam On The Brakes (NO SKIDDING) Dango Dango Mang This Freaking Awesome!
That roar of the falls really gets your attention fast.
The color of the water and the moss were unbelievably cool to see.

My Bikey
http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j128/knobularlife/mrt-15.jpg
Lots of different bridges to cross …some only had one rail on the sides. We saw a kid/bike fall off.
http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j128/knobularlife/mrt-16.jpg
This was way bigger than it looks and the inside was all charcoal (Lightning Strike)
This was the last pic I took of the trail.
Around the halfway point the trail turns ripper and I just could not stop any more!!!

I was stoked to have stayed here .
Two years ago I stayed in the main lodge(plush)
This year I pitched a tent and was glad I did.
Here are some pics of the lodge
http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j128/knobularlife/mrt-18.jpg
The Pool is fed from near by hot springs and kept at 103 deg temp.
Got the perfect soak after the 27 mile ride we just did.

http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j128/knobularlife/mrt-19.jpg
The river just a hop skimp and jump from the pool
http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j128/knobularlife/mrt-20.jpg
View of the lodge from behind and that is the foot bridge that take you to the gardens and tent sites.

http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j128/knobularlife/mrt-21.jpg
When we were told that you can not drive your car to the tent sites I was a little pissed
I was a little tired from the ride and was more equipped for car camping instead of backpacking.
They provide you with carts and it was kind of fun to walk the paths back through a nice garden, many ponds and very quiet tent site.

Across that bridge about 100 yards to the North is the King Castle/Castle Rock trailhead.... that's the trail that still burns in my memory over the McKenzie.

That happened to me last year at a race. It sucked. How the f are you supposed to do it without having water pool up and soak you?

Roll/fold up the edges and tuck them under the edge of the tent.
Has to be under the tent, else the water running off the tent will just end up under you.
