I'm in the market for a new hardtail trail bike. I'm a big fan of Planet X, owned a few of them so far, so I was looking at the Gimp. It's a pretty dj specific frame from what I've read. I was wondering if anyone had used it for trail (shore riding, etc). Thoughts? Other frames I should consider?
Cheers

I've had really good luck with my ironhors yakuza hardtail. Rode it into the ground and it still performs. (things it does well: dh, dj, xc, fr, allmtn). Good all around, but not spec'd so well stock.

I guess it depends on how you set it up. It's really heavy, So If you build it with gears, and burly parts, it will probably be pushing 40lbs. I rode one for about a year. It work out ok for trails when set up properly.
