Winthrop trails

What trails are in the Winthrop area? XC and/or DH.

Well there are lots of trails there in the Methow valley, but I haven't ridden there and don't know what/where exactly they are. Here are some quick google results:

Check with Winthrop Mountain Sports. Also here: www.mvsta.com and you can also check with Sun Mountain Resort. Races used to take place on the trails of Sun Mountain and out of the Chickadee area (actually I guess there are still some races that go on there) and some of the trails are really fun. XC is all I know about. The old DH race course was just a fire road for the most part. But maybe someone will chime in who knows about more DH in the area.

I don't think they like DHers in the Methow Valley. And don't let on to MVSTA people that you're looking for DH - - they think we're all a bunch of hooligans.
