Its not a 'jump' or 'fr' hardtail to begin with. The hardrock series is generally considered a recreational MTB or a novices bike. That doesnt mean you cant put a decent fork on it, but if you subject it to high loads(jumping, casing etc) you might end up with a damaged frame or... person.
The frame was by no means designed to be jumped BUT people do all the time and they hold up well.
TRANSLATION: You can jump w/it, as others have, but don't let it surprise you if the front end rips off.

I'll be surprised if the bike will take more than a 5 inch travel fork. I would get something like a DJ 3 or a Sherman Jumper for it. In fact, my friend has a Sherman jumper with 3 or 4 inches of travel and it works perfectly.

i had a 6inch drop off dual crown on mine for a short time and it worked really well, it was a little high but a 5 inch fork would be great
