Does anyone know of a lighter 29'er wheelset than the American Classics?
Maybe some Industry Nines?
Dunno.

Depends. What is the claimed weight of the American Classic sets these days? I9s won't be any lighter because of the hub weight but they will be more aesthetically pleasing.

Disc 29" MTB 350 wheels with Disc 225 rear hub: 725 gm front, 865 gm rear. Pair = 1590 gm.

Stans? Not sure if they're any lighter than the AM Classic, though.
Isn't the Fisher MTB team using Bontrager carbon fiber rims on their 29ers? I recall reading that they were going to release those in 2007...

Don't want to get too spammy but yes, our wheels are lighter than 1590g including the tape and valve to make them tubeless compatible. Rough numbers sitting at home tonight say something in the 1540g range all inclusive. Follow the sig if you want to discuss details.

However, if you are looking for a 1600 gr. 29'er wheel that is stiff; look no further than www.industrynine.net
