Can you imagine what this guy could do on a full sus? Maybe we should leave the crazy urban riding to the bmxers as God intended...

Maybe this is why the majority of guys that have been riding bmx for 15 years think urban mountain bikers are goons...

I really don't understand the no helmet thing, but I guess that is another discussion.

You maybe think that a lot of the people riding freeride/urban came from a BMX background? Maybe they just decidied they like the big bikes better for whatever reason?
BTW, whenever the BMX vs MTB comes up people can point to examples of both that seemingly one-ups the other. Niether is better than the other.
From a guy that rode BMX from 5 to 17 and again from 23-27. That collectively adds up to over 15...

PS, people that do that type of stuff with out at least a helmet are dumb. They are second only to Mags/Online "e-zines" that publish pictures/vidoes of them doing it with out a helmet.
I hope he never learns how dumb that is.

Thats just insane
when I first saw that I thought it was to flat
even if someone with pads did that, it would still be pretty crazy

IF YOU AINT GOT STEEZ, YOU GONNA GET HATED ON SO BAD.
That's so crazy. In my opinion bmxer's and rollerbladers are the most raw/insane athletes in the world.

fruit booters are pretty crazy but it seams easyer than skateboarding and bmx somehow.

yes.
the landing is not as large as you think. and the runnout is very short and leads to a death pit. go check it out sometime...

I almost got into it. Way to instense/hard to get good at though. It seems easy "all you have to do is jump". It's like the hardest activity ever though. So insane.

That landing looked like it would hurt, especially on a BMX! Props to that guy for doing the jump though. I probably wouldn't even do that on a DH bike, landing on pavement scares me.

What does embarass this Seattle freerider is when other Seattle freeriders don't pack out what they bring to the trails. There's no logical excuse for it.

Why should this embarass Seattle riders? Jimmy Levan is from the mid west and he traveled all the way out here to ride. Stand up and be proud. If he doesn't want to wear pads and a helmet, that's his choice not yours!

It's not about the pads or helmet. It's the fact that he hit a gap on a bmx bike that most freeriders wouldn't hit without at least 8 inches of travel.
So I was wondering if there is any Seattle Freeriders, since the drop/gap is in Seattle, would/should step up, go ridgid and replicate that stunt?

Oh now I get it. Yeah I'm right there with you. Nothing bothers me more that watching riders who rely on their suspension when jumping. It seems like they don't care if they come up a little short and just let the suspension suck it up. Same thing goes for bunny hopping, I had a roomate once who couldn't bunny hop without pulling up on his clip pedals.
Maybe bike shops should make beginner bike riders buy fully rigid, flat pedaled bikes and pass a skills test before they upgrade their bikes.
Okay maybe not, but you wouldn't give a 16 year old kid a Top Fuel Funny Car to learn to drive with would you?

Ya let me go out and buy a new bmx and hit that gap and kill myself.
I got respect for both sports, most pro bmx riders are not going to go hit a technical downhill trail. I road with the pro bmx riders at whistler after the redbull comp, they rented fullsuspention bikes. Most of them had trouble just riding down the ladder going into dirtmerchent.
I dont get the mntbike vs bmx they are both cool in there own ways.

BMX is a whole nother animal they can't be compared I went that big on a skate board twice and all the time on Rollerblades. Now I am 26 and can barely walk when it rains. Moral of the story.....Remember to yell Weeeeee on the way down.
