Hey-

I'm an east bay local and most of the time if I want to do street then I just head over to campus. Are there any good street spots in the city?

If you guys ever want to get a group together for a street session in the city, count me in.

Thanks guys. I'm waiting for my rear wheel to get built up (I got hit by a car, but then I managed to sue the driver and got my money back for the wheel) so once that's ready then I can head out. Any specific spots that you know of are good? I've only messed around down by the Embarcadaro; it was fairly dissapointing.

I heard Stanford is pretty freaking awesome. I would love to come out but I am still healing from my dirt jumping shoulder injury. I start physical therapy at the end of the month.

When you guys do an urban sesh are you riding your 20s or mtb? I went to the city for a couple rides and ended up only riding EMB and a couple spots I found along Market St and yes not very exciting for a two hour trip. So if there's a group ride that know's their way around the city I'm in.

I'll be on my MTB. I sold my bmx a few months ago because the bmx street scene is pretty much nonexistant.

bmx street non-existent? Street/park is the in thing from what I'm seeing. Yea maybe a little more park than street but still in, seems like dirt is under the radar.

from what i've seen there isn't **** to ride in the east bay for bmx, but correct my if I'm wrong, it just doesn't seem that's there's much to ride around here

I was handcuffed, had to sit in the back of a cop car and nearly arrested for felony vandalism for riding my bike at Stanford 2 weeks ago. It was pretty stressful.

They don't like tire marks on their million dollar walls there. Leave the place alone. Keep street riding in the ghetto where cops are more concerned with busting murders, and crack whores. They've got nothing better to do then to bust you for riding your bike at Stanford...........................

The place does have some pretty sick street though!

i think the key thing for an SF group ride is having a local that knows some good spots to session. some one also mentioned that a large group of riders would draw attention (unless one of them has friends in SFPD :sneaky: ).

You're right, a large group would draw attention.

there are a few spots around the embarcadero to work tech street - manuals, fufanu's, flat land spin stuff, and combos of the above. Most stuff worth riding on SF is going to be dependent on your ability to string multiple tech moves into a single line.
Also, 1-4 guys will not draw attention as long as you are mobile and not filming (ie can roll at first sign of harrassment)
If you are looking for people to ride with, drop me a line. Expert DH/advanced street level. I have a few secret spots that I don't mind showing better riders who know the rules about keeping them DL.

Whoooooooooa... I'm just about to get back on the bike in half a year and was thinking of goin to Stanford. Thanks for the tidbit of info, I think I'll steer clear now. Where were you when they got you?? Usually we used to get warnings there, a couple times some guys even just sat around for a minute or two and watched.
