Today i was riding and my quick realese got loose, I put it back on but i think i hit somthing on the back brake. It made the rear brake rub, but it also made the pull alot shorter. I went home to try and fix it. I had no clue what i was doing and acidently unscrewed some on the part of the brake were you pull and some hydro oil leaked out. I finaly realized that i needed to take the brake pads off and move the thing that pushes them back. I did that and got the tire back on. Now the brakes dont start grabing untill the leaver hits the handelbar. Im thinking its just becuase it lost some oil. Any ideas?'

(I rote this in a hurry, sorry if stuff isnt spelled right :o: )

And i have hayes nine brakes.

Yes, it's because you lost some fluid.

Take it into the shop and tell them you need to have your brakes topped off and bled :)

I hope you didn't get that fluid on anything... it's not oil, it's brake fluid and it's nasty stuff.

Mmmmmm... DOT4 brake fluid. Takes the paint of anything.

You might have gotten fluid on the pads. I've heard that boiling the pads will clean them so they are usuable, but I'd just get another set of pads.
