88025 Wired-Up Bush Caught Using 'S' Word
President George Bush has been heard using foul language while talking to Tony Blair about the conflict in the Middle East.
Mr Bush failed to realise his remarks were being picked up by a microphone at a summit of world leaders.

He bluntly expressed his frustration with the actions of Hizbollah guerrillas in Lebanon.

"See, the irony is, what they really need to do is to get Syria to get Hizbollah to stop doing this s**t," Mr Bush told Mr Blair in a discussion before a G8 summit lunch.

Mr Bush's remarks were recorded by the summit's closed-circuit television, which was filming the leaders sitting down to eat.

Normally, the images are transmitted with sound that does not allow reporters to pick out individual comments.

But in this case, a microphone clearly recorded the expletive.

The Prime Minister, whose remarks were not as distinct, appeared to be pressing Mr Bush about the importance of getting international peacekeepers into the region.

I think it's embarassing that major news reporting agencies thought this was newsworthy. Bush says a swear and they all go, "OH EM GEE! BUSH CURSED! TEE HEE HEE!" and run off and say it's major news.

I think that's about as re-goddamn-diculous as it gets. Every one of those guys curses behind closed doors and the minute someone leaves a mic on, it's world news.

I didn't think cursing should be front page news either, but actually in light of all the morality mandates and FCC crap, this is pretty funny. If GW is going shove his beliefs down our throats, he better walk the straight and narrow and adhere to those beliefs as well.

you are correct no one can be "Perfect Patty" (who ever said Bush was?) but GW always uses his high and mighty "moral right" to help him out of situations, shouldn't he be held to the same standards as those he holds to high standards via his FCC?

My point was that I logged onto CNN.com yesterday morning and this particular issue appeared no less than three times on the front page. Once as the FIRST ITEM ON THE PAGE, and in BIG BOLD PRINT. Once as a link to a video. And once again in a list of "most viewed videos".

Now, in light of everything that is going on in the world at this moment, was that really the most pressing issue that the world public needed to know about? Maybe it deserves a foot note somewhere, or to be stuck in the "funny news" category, but the very first item on the very first page of one of the biggest news agencies in the world? Come on, guys. Let's gain a little perspective here.

I can see your point about questioning its worthiness of being front page material, but I still disagree and think (and maybe I am looking toooo deep here) that his descision making capabilities are not that great, and his choice to carry on such a stupid conversation in a public place really showcases that! will Jonh Q Public ever look at this incedent and come up with that conclusion? Probably not. But it is the small things (to me) that really add up to give you a clear picture of the person.

I know who put the video there, but realistically, had the video been placed more appropriately, it would likely not have been ranked #1... or maybe it would have been, but even at that, it would have been the first occurance of it on the page, not the third.

I just feel that CNN's front page should be serving a more important purpose than calling out hipocracy for curse words.

I am not sure about where they put what..., and what they value, I usually don't get my info via them anyway...:D
