Rim tape?

I was looking at my spare rear wheel and noticed that it didn't have any rim tape on it. I assume this is a bad thing and was going to retape it. Before I do so, I'd like to confirm my suspicions. Any thoughts out there?

Yes, definitely need some rim tape in there. With no tape you run a very good chance of having the spoke holes cut pretty little holes in your tube.

The only exception to this would be if it is a UST rim in which case it would have a solid spoke bed.

can you see the nipples, or are there holes going down and you can see the spokes, an he said, if it is a UST, there would be a pastic thick rim strip, may look like nothing, but you wont be able to see the spokes:wave:
