I just put a 66 VF2 on my current bike and find that it is really sticky in it's travel, do the marzocchi forks require a period of break-in that I am not use to, or is this the way that fork works.

It doesn't run up and down in its travel very even and doesn't return to full height on rebound.

marzocchi forks have 5mm of negative travel, if it is more than that you have a problem.

it should not be very sticky, just a little bit, try riding it to break it in.

Marz. products usually require about 10hrs. to break in.

make the lowers are straight. i have one and my lowers are not casted right. they r off center and cause them to very sticky and make a sharp cracking noise at about half travel. i emailed marz about it and still waiting for a respond from them. not that i'm worried. plus i have another fork to use until i can get it fixed.

It feels like the bushings are really tight and need to break-in I have just not had a fork that needed to be broke-in this much before.

my 66sl took quite a few rides to break in. ride a lift assisted mt for a day, that should help.

use the air to set your sag for now, you may not need any until your fork is broken in.
