travis steer tube problem

well i just tried to put the race on my new travis triple, and it drops all the way to the crown with no effort at all. we then tried an aheadset that was sitting around, and that race spun around like a washer. then we gave another aheadset a try, and it fit the way it should. wtf?! anyone else have this problem, or have an answer to it? :help:

yeah i think thats what happened. i grabbed a race from another FSA headset I had and it worked, so its all good now.

There is a crown race knurling tool, which will "rough" up the crown race seat. I have run into the same problem, and this tool fixes it every time.
