Shimano levers

I bought a road bike this year that has Ultegra STI. It's the first bike I have had in a very long time that wasn't Campy.

Question: does anyone actually like the left shifter? Is it even possible to get the damn thing adjusted so that you can get a proper range of gears without chain rub?

OK, I only use a double. The triple shifter is funky.

It's a fine touch between the throw limit screws on the derailleur, and the barrel adjuster (on some frames).

I haven't touched mine since I built it 15 months ago.

That being said it might rub and I just don't notice it anymore. If it is an I start noticing it, I'm e-kicking you in the nuts.
