Anybody been to Downieville yet this year?

I'll be camping in Indian Valley again (like we do every year) and since both my dad and I have new bikes, we've decided to sneak away and catch the shuttle up and do the Downhill. I've never done it before, but from everything I've heard, it's a blast.
Anybody have any input or advice for me?

Funny thing is that my family has been camping in Indian Valley every summer for the last 70 years, and my grandfather was born in Dobbins worked on the HWY 49 road crew. Hell, my wife and I honeymooned in Downieville, and I have never once ridden a bike up there. I'm pretty damned stoked to get a chance.
