Well, I don't have a set price range. I saved ~$1000 buying the bike I did (cervelo) instead of a giant tcr, but I'd like to buy a car to carry my bike and I...

So...I'm walking the fine line between cost and quality.

Just go try a bunch. Most companies make nice helmets these days. It's a matter really of fit, and they all fit different. I can't wear a Bell or Specialized, they just don't fit my head right. Find what fits best and get it. Really the only Difference in helmets of different prices is weight and venting.
