Pat, i agree. Mammoth has WAYYYYY to many people. It takes atleast an hour waiting to get on any lift. The mountain is really bad in general. The tickets are FAR to expenisve, and the drive or flight is not worth it. STAY AWAY FROM THE EVIL!

It's almost as bad snowboarding. It seems like they try to make you wish you hadn't gone. It's HELL!

Kinda open, Only the XC stuff low on the mountain will be open. Don't expect to get to the top till the end of July/Augest. I don't think upper velocity was open till mid aug last year.
They're planning on skiing till the 4th at least.

I imagine that nothing more that Uptown/Downtown will be open on 6/24 and it will be well into July or August before the mountain is fully open and even then I'd expect a decent amount of snow on Upper Skid Marks and maybe Upper Velocity. I'll be heading there early September - can't wait!

One more reason to head out to Mammoth for opening day--there will be a moto race going on the same weekend.

I'm guessing that not much of the mountain will be open in June (I would assume it will just be Chain Smoke and Velocity).

I don't even think those trails will be open in June...probably more like the trails below the main lodge - Uptown, Downtown, Big Ring, Shotgun, parts of Bullet, etc.

That's what it was last year, and it was s muddy mess for the most part.

When I went to Mammoth last year we had one day of rain and the trails that day were the best I had ever seen - the kitty litter packed down to something almost like cement making the trails extra fast and flowy, however, I can imagine too much water there would make things really messy.
