View Full Version : Fixing Shimano SPD Platforms

I have two pairs of Shimano 545 pedals that I really like using for freeride and trail purposes. I prefer to be clipped in. Unfortunately, in the last few months, two of the pedals have lost the screw and spring that are attached to the outer edge of the platform part of the pedal. These springs and screw allow the platforms to spring back and keeps the SPD portion from recessing into the platform.

Does anyone know where I can get replacement parts for these pedals? Shimano is completely unresponsive (as per usual). I have divested myself of Shimano completely on both my bikes with the exception of these pedals. I like them, with the exception of this little quirk. Any help is greatly appreciated...

Have you checked with a local shop? I've never had to replace those particular parts... but they are the type of thing my shop is normally VERY good about having/getting.

I checked out the link that Wumpus sent but that website doesn't seem to have what I want. They sell the whole spindle or the whole cage. Honestly, I just need that spring and screw cap. Arg, is there no way to get replacement parts for these silly pedals?!?!?!

Shimano, call them for the part # then have your LBS order them.
