we stayed a night at edwards AFB johnny... i have some photos i snapped, but i m not sure if you wanna see them... seriously... good news is that you aren t that far from big bear (about 1 hour)... i m told its about 2 hours from edwards to LA (but who really wants to go there) and about 3 hours to vague ass... and after 4 shots at that joint, i m in no rush to go back...
hit yosemite / edwards / las vague ass... good to be back in nor cal i ll tell ya... still waiting for our stuff to arrive :( ... dropped the woman off yesterday at the airport :(...
i think you ll be pretty dissapointed in the riding around edwards... close by anyways... there are no fricken trees out there !!! and it looks like it ll hit 110 on a cool day... the base looks like a lunar landscape... reminded me alot of the mining areas in the north of oz... the only difference is that the soil isn t red... if i was you i d buy myself a used motorbike like a honda XR400R or XR650R... make sure it s street legal and that way you can blast the fugger through the desert when you need a 'riding' fix... plus you can ride it to work...

heres a decent 400 on ebay... i have ridden these and they are great, not too much power and heaps lighter than the 650...
