so the local place which was purported selling their stock and concentrating on the Boston store actually is pretty much gone, but i stopped in after work on friday to see what they had left. grabbed two cases of '97 riserva chiantis, one a mixed case of bottles averaging $28 or so (and she gave me a 30% discount), the other a full case of Tomaiolo '97 Riserva (http://www.nicholasrobertsltd.com/129431) for a measly $10 a bottle.

it's very good...we opened a bottle on friday night. best $10/btl deal i can recall ever getting.

We scored too... an 80 bottle wine rack from her mom for frees :)

(her mom's moving and gonna splurge on a 100 wine bottle refrigerator)

I do love me some good Chianti, the other night I was drinking a bottle of Rufino gold lable, and eating pasta. It doesn't get allot better that that.

Wow. That's an impressive score on some '97 sangiovese! Greatest year in the last decade for that grape. :thumb:
