mini bmx gear ratios

This probably applies mostly to BMX dads, but what is a good starting ratio for a 6 or 7 year old on a mini? I know it will have to be fine tuned based on what track your riding, track conditions, rider strength and ability, but I'm just looking for a good starting point right now.
