i did not feel like weighing it o be honest. people on this board flip out and second guess weights so even if i do weigh it i will keep it to myself.

i know for a fact that is is not heavy if that helps...

So dope man, loving the color. 224s are so damn sweet, as is that Funn stem. Funn is the most underated, unknown companies out there. Their stuff is so nice looking its insane. What is your BB on that baby? Who cares about weight but as you said its light and thats a fact.

This maybe a dumb question, but why did they change the name? It doesn't appear to be any different, maybe I'm missing something?

Pretty sure that's a thomson, as they sent us a dozen of them.

Actually, it is completely different and 1lb lighter. New pivot location, new shock mount, new shock shuttle, replaceable derr. hanger, hydroformed tubing etc etc :)

Holy cow that's a pimp-tastic ride. I agree with you about the weight thing, I know a JrX rider on a 45+lb bike that consistently kicks ass so I don't place a lot of importance on a pound here and there.

I can't get over how cool that bike looks. The 3rd shot of the drifting in the leaves is sick too.

damn, that looks just like the Funn stem from that far away pic. Is that thomson aftermarket or frasier special?

Should just be a standard thomson 50mm, I could be wrong if dave decided to change things up for now, but I know he liked the new thomson stuff they sent over.

edit: upon closer inspection, it looks a little bit too high to be the thomson stuff they sent over, but does have the proper shape. weird.

did you buy that bike in the states or canada? I have been trying to get one here in the states and it seems as if they stopped distribution here, is this true?

nope local shop in north carolina is still a proud distributer of them.

There has been no distribution in the US for awhile, they are trying to rectify this. It may take awhile due to liability insurance and the like.

We deal directly with Orange Uk as a factory team.

ummmm.... did you look at the picture, it is a dhx

to answer a few other questions:

yes that is a funn direct mount stem, the BB height is a fraction under14"

and whover wanted to know the weight so they could estimate the weight of their morewood build, al i can say is that the two frames have a whole lot less in commo than you think. to start with the frame itself is over a pound lighter

and the new boxxer puts every boxxer previously made to shame... they are amazing

actually i have owned every vartiety of boxxer since they came out in 1998. i have never had one break, spew oil, etc... then again i take care of my equipment.

i liked the old boxxers for their simplicity and reliability (for me). they were not the most sophisticated fork out there but they got the job done as well as anything else. the new ones however have very little (inernaly) in common with previous versions. the damping, the adjustment range, smoothness of travel are on another level.

and i know for a fact that in a month i will still be saying the same thing

sorry for misunderstanding... just that there are too many people on this board who seem to make it their job to bitch about (or lately spam) certain products whenever and wherever possible. not saying you are one of them, but it came accross that way when you jumped all over the my boxxer comment... no worries

wow deffinatly wasnt trying to get a weight idea. i was just wanting an idea of lightweigh components to put on my new moorewood. if i was going to compare two frame weights i would make sure that they were the same frames.

Yeah, go search for my Izumu and its right at 39-40ibs either or depending on the tubes I run. My frame weighs 10.2ibs(shop Digi) with the double barrel w/steel spring which is a pretty heavy shock as it is. With a boxxer WC, XT cranks and some light wheels your bike is pretty much garunteed 40ish. But as said above, the 224 is lighter.

seen your moorewood im just trying to get more ideas and see what i can get away with and where i can make compromises and where i need to keep a little weight. its always a good thing to get a second opinion.

The new bike looks good Dave - when will we see you at Diablo?

What stem are you running? The setup looks tall?

yes, i will be at diablo. hopefully more this year than last, and definetly for the US Open

about the stem, i thought the same thing when i looked at the pic, maybe it is because it blends in with the top crown making it look funny. the picute is also taken from a lower position, kind of looking up at the bike a bit so that might explain it (and the fact that in the pic the BB height looks way higher than 13.75" as well).

i have a king headset, a 1/4" spacer, the top crown and a direct mount Funn stem with the lowest rise truvativ bars made. it is definetly not high, and i think the riding pics show this a bit better than the pic of the pic standing alone.
