I was checking out the Dainese site and it appears they have some new safety gear out. Check out the web page at
http://www.dainese.com/eng/coll_mtb.asp
Anyone have any additonal information on some of their new gear, such as when it'll be available and pricing?
Also, (depending on when and how much the new gear will be) I am looking into getting some gear, likely a safety jacket next. I've heard that they tend to run on the small size, so I'm looking for an idea of what size to get. I am 5'-11" and about 180 pounds (I wear a size 42 suit coat). Any suggestions?

yeah the new Impact looks sweet, but probably costs a fortune. The older Safety Jackets are looking reasonable these days.

Yeah, I've seen some decent prices for some safety jackets too. I really like the looks of the Impact though...

Have you taken a look at the High Voltage 1-2-3, less mesh to rip, too bad the costa mesa store can't find it, except in Italy.

I'm a little taller than you maybe 6'1", weigh 185, and wear a 42 or 44 jacket. I have a large saftey jacket next and it fits me well...tight enough to stay put, but not constrictive. I could not wear a sweatshirt under it, but a light t-shirt feels good.

I was figuring that I'd wear a size large, but I was hoping for some confirmation. Thanks Suboptimus!

Some of the new stuff will not be available in North America. The second one in yoru pics is the race cut, the third is the gladiator. The next is the new backplate (first image) but that is the new vest version of it.

Transcend, I was hoping you'd see this and reply, thanks. Is the Impact Race Cut or Gladiator coming to N.A.?

The impact is the new version of the Safety jacket. They have basically combined the next, regular and racecut into one model. It should be over here anytime, our shipment is "on the boat" I have been told.
I don't have any idea what availability will be, I do know they were shipping over a ton of 2005 stuff to get rid of it. The galiadtor has no chest plate, and i wouldn't recommend it. The racecut Impact is pretty nice, and has another new backplate, which I haven't yet tried. I am told it is a combination of the next and regular, to be honest it looks like they took a regular one and drilled holes in it.
edit: I will personally be wearing an 05 shuttle 3/4 and new 3x kneeguards. I am not fond of the idea of a black body armour outfit.

I know what you mean about black body armor. I start sweating when the weather gets above 50 degrees F, so black gear is really not the best idea for me. Thanks for the info.

The only reason they are doing it, is because so many people asked for the red and black moto versions last year (same exact suits). It is absurd, not sure who'd want black body armour.
