Thinking about riding in Idaho, specifically the Coeur d Alene area this summer. When I mentioned this to a friend of mine he told me the bugs will eat me alive. Anyone from this area or ride this area? What's the low down on this area? Also, what are the best times of year to ride. Thanks.

the bugs arent that bad, no worse than any other area near water. the best times to ride would be spring and fall, and summer too, if you dont mind 80's and 90's temp. you should also check out spokane, its only like 30 min from CDA. good luck with your trip.

Yup, Spokane is the place to hit. Check out Mt Spokane and Beacon Hill. Mica Peak (Between Spokane and CdA) is great for hiking around, but I dont know about pedaling there.

ALso, if you are xc-ing, head to Riverside Park in Spokane. The 24 hr. championships were there a few years ago, and it is a great place to spin around for an afternoon.
